SL BIPOC – Second Life Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Flickr Groups

I’ve very recently started two new flickr groups for Second Life Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

One of these is for general images, what flickr terms ‘safe’, the other for ‘moderate and restricted’, as in ‘nudity and adult’ images.

The goal is to have a group that is for people of color to post imagery from second life that reflect empowering / dignified representations of ourselves and our communities:

Here is the description for the ‘safe’ group:

New group: established August 27, 2020.

For images by and of second life avatars that are respectful / empowering representations of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

This is the ‘general’ group, a related group exists for mature and restricted art:
BIPOC Second Life Black, Indigenous & People of Color (Adult)

As a general group this group does NOT allow images that include nudity, sex, or violence.

Images that represent exploitative or demeaning depictions of people, especially of people of color, will be removed and posters of them will be blocked.

And the restricted group is similar:

New group: established August 27, 2020.

For ‘moderate & restricted’ images by and of second life avatars that are respectful representations of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

This is the ‘restricted’ group, a related group exists for ‘general / safe’ art:
SL BIPOC – Second Life Black, Indigenous, and People of Color

As a restricted group this group allows, and is for, images that include both nudity and/or sex. Such work should be erotica that does not demean the subject.

Violent images are NOT allowed. In particular sexually violent or demeaning images should NOT be posted here
– such as the common in SL racist ‘interracial assault fantasy theme’.

Images that represent exploitative or demeaning depictions of people, especially of people of color, will be removed and posters of them will be blocked.

Hope to see some people join these and contribute their Second Life artwork.
